Meilysa Trias Puspitasari and Rachel Allessya Rose’s double effort in the Taiwan Open 2025 women’s doubles semifinals came to a halt after they were defeated 14-21, 19-21 by the Japanese pair of Mizuki Otake and Miyu Takahashi at the Taipei Arena, Taiwan, on Saturday. Otake/Takahashi dominated from the start by quickly taking the lead, leaving Trias/Rachel far behind at 3-9 in the first game, eventually winning 21-14. In the second game, Trias/Rachel briefly took the lead at 6-4, but their own mistakes caused them to lose momentum and fall behind 6-7. The back-and-forth scoring continued until they briefly led 19-17 thanks to Rachel’s excellent play at the net. Unfortunately, the pressure during crucial points proved too much for the Indonesian pair as they lost four consecutive points to ultimately succumb 19-21. Otake/Takahashi’s performance had been on the rise, as they surprised everyone in early March by winning the German Open 2025 tournament after defeating the top-seeded Bulgarian pair, Gabriela Stoeva and Stefani Stoeva, with a score of 21-17, 20-22, 21-12. Despite Trias/Rachel’s defeat, Indonesia failed to advance any representatives to the women’s doubles final. However, in the mixed doubles sector, Indonesia was guaranteed to win at least one title as Dejan Ferdinansyah/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribuc created an All Indonesian Final in this category. Dejan/Fadia reached the final by defeating the Japanese pair of Yuichi Shimogami/Sayaka Hobara 21-19, 21-17, while Jafar/Felisha overcame the Malaysian pair of Chen Tang Jie/Chan Wen Tse with a score of 21-11, 21-15. The results of these semifinals ended Indonesia’s wait to claim a mixed doubles sector title throughout 2025. The only title Indonesia has won this season came from the women’s doubles category through the pair of Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti at the Thailand Masters 2025 from January 28 to February 2.
